Description
Hello and thank you for viewing my listing. Today you are purchasing one cutting fragment specimen of NWA 6697 Carbonaceous C2-ungrouped Chondrite Meteorite from Mauritania. C2-ungrouped is one of the most rare of all meteorites EVER to be classified. There is a total of 24 official and of that 24, 8 are Antarctic, which means, unobtainable to the general public. Of the remaining 8, maybe 3 or 4 you might find available for sale. I have been repeatedly asked to list some of my super rare C2-ung and here you go. These specimens ALL had a small piece removed for testing at UCLA. All 9 specimens had a small amount taken off to double check them, that they paired, and were the same C2-ung. Special testing was done in South Korea on the specimens. I plucked CAI material from the largest to have studied also by UCLA. This is one of the most important classifications of my career and was THE first blow your mind classification I had ever made. I have prepped ten for auctions for the holiday season, enjoy. My catalog number is G090-0167 and weighs in at micro grams and comes in a quality glass top gem case with my card of authenticity for provenance. Remember, provenance is a must when collecting meteorites. This is by far the largest specimen ever offered. There are none larger except my main mass. I have designed a COA for NWA 6697, as I do with all of my classifications. The specimen you see pictured is the exact specimen you will receive. Each card comes with catalog number, weight and my signature of authenticity. Thanks again for viewing. Cheers!
