    Description

    Very impressive lot of etched Gibeon fine-octahedrite meteorite specimens and material. These were all cut from the same lab-verified 11 kilogram mass, and the overwhelming majority is extremely high grade. The total weight of this lot is 2375 grams or roughly 5-1/4 pounds. The heaviest piece in this lot weighs a whopping 828 grams (1.82 pounds).
    This is NOT inferior muonionalusta. You can tell between the two by the very thin and smooth fusion crust on Gibeon.
    Gibeon has become rare in the USA due to a recent export ban that is enforced by the Namibian government. That is unfortunate because Gibeon meteorite has excellent characteristics including corrosion resistance, strength, and attractive crystal structure making it the best available meteorite for jewelry, knife making, etc. The price has skyrocketed over the past couple years with higher grade etched material fetching /gram. This lot is priced under /gram!
    Note: Some untrustworthy ebay sellers have started selling uncut campo specimens as Gibeon, use extreme caution when purchasing an uncut iron meteorite as it is extremely hard to tell origin until cut! Campo is not fit for use in fabrication, and the price reflects that by 5-10x under genuine Gibeon.
